Why See Michael Che?
The weekend update host heads on tour!
The talented Daily Show reporter and first black co-host of Weekend Update, this up and coming comic has won over critics and audience alike, having been named one of Rolling Stone's 50 Funniest People. Applying street culture and his inner-city upbringing to news issues, his casual and insouciant delivery has been applauded widely. He also filmed a Netflix special in 2016, Michael Che Matters, where he boldly covered subjects such as racism from white people using the n-word, the Black Lives Matter movement, homophobia, abortion, religion, sexism, and gentrification.
Focusing on issues such as race, he is a fearless comic who notably tackles discrimination by police, once ironically using an outers-space green screen to show where a black man would not be harrassed by law enforcement. Now he plies his deadpan humor behind the Weekend Update desk as part of the ever-popular SNL, often covering Trump. Che is also a notable impressionist, with his most popular being Thurgood Marshall Lester Holt and Meek Mill. Che will be bringing his fearless humor - and perhaps some impressions too - to Neptune Theater in Seattle, WA, Until June 23, 2017
