Why see Iron Maiden?

The Future Past Tour

Prepare yourself for Iron Maiden's most explosive live spectacular ever as the British heavy metal outfit return to North America on their extravagantly staged The Future Past tour. With more Pyro, light, flame effects than ever and even an entire replica Spitfire in working in perfect fusion with their hard rock tunes, this is THE event Maiden fans won't want to miss.

Iron Maiden was formed in London in 1975, and given the fact they took their name from a medieval torture device, it was clear they weren't gonna be Grandmother's new favorite band. Pioneering a wave of British heavy metal, their no-nonsense approach, taking inspiration from the likes of Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, and of course the monumental vocals of singer Bruce Dickinson, immediately marked them out as something special. Among their most iconic tracks are 'Run to the Hills', 'The Number of the Beast' and 'The Trooper'. Catch one of the genre's defining artists when Iron Maiden heads on The Future Past tour in 2024.

Maiden in Oakland

Great show from Maiden last night! My crew and I were dead center on the floor in front of the band about 20 to 30 rows back. Not actual rows because it was General admission but I'm just estimating. Anyway it seemed to me that Bruce's voice was shot after about 6 or 7 songs and that sent the band into longer jams. I know to some it may have seemed like a mic problem but I'm pretty sure it was Bruce and I felt bad for him because he would mouth the first parts of the verse so he could save his voice for the latter parts. Regardless Maiden was on fire! The jams on Red and the Black and Book of Souls were very intense and they went on and on to my drunk and stoned pleasure. I wasn't that thrilled with the encores that consisted of Number, Blood Brothers, and Waysted Years but the set as a whole was very good. I thought the crowd would be a little more violent because of Oakland's image but I didn't see any crazy pit fights or over aggressive play. Nikko was on point behind the drums! ... Read more

Iron Maiden Legacy of the Beast

We've been seeing Maiden as often as possible for more years than we can count. Every time was a highlight. But the concert at Mansfield, Ma, last night was the best ever. Maiden never disappoints. Bruce was at the top of his game! It was sold out, and worth much more than the price of admission! I wish I could see them again tonight! The energy, the euphoria! Everyone around us was totally engaged in the experience and singing at the top of their lungs. It was a Maiden crowd. Everyone in concert shirts going way back. Who needs drugs? Iron maiden is the best drug on the planet, and it's totally legal. I've been teaching for 50 years, and I still play Maiden in my classroom, just for me, early every morning. I met one of my students there last night. It's a great way to communicate between the generations! Maiden's catalogue is also so cerebral: the myth of Daedalus and Incarus, for instance, "The Ancient Mariner", not played last night, ptobably because of length. Iron Maiden is the soundtrack of my life. I can't wait for the next tour! ... Read more
