Holiday Inn

Holiday Inn at 5th Avenue Theatre

Why see Holiday Inn?

The Broadway Hit

Packing all the holidays into one, Holiday Inn is an effervescent Broadway hit built around the songs of Irving Berlin. The story centers on the titular holiday inn, which only opens its doors for all the year's different holiday. It's a clever device which allows the musical's score to seamlessly incorporate twenty of Berlin's best known numbers, from 'Easter Parade' to 'White Christmas'.

Conceived by Gordon Greenberg and Chad Hodge, Holiday Inn made its Broadway debut in 2016, and now looks set to become a yuletide standard for local theatre across the nation. This 5th Avenue production is directed by David Armstrong.

What is Holiday Inn About?

Following his retirement, former dancer Jim Hardy finds he's missing the razzle dazzle of showbusiness. His solution is to partner up with aspiring singer Linda and turn his Connecticut farmhouse into a special inn that only welcomes guests during the holidays. This allows them to put on dazzling seasonal-themed show to entertain their customers and scratch that performance itch. Everything is going great until Jim's old buddy Ted turns up, and threatens to derail both the Inn and Jim's blossoming romance with Linda!
