An Age Old Tale Leaps Onto The Stage

As the weather turns colder and scarves, gloves and beanies guard against wind, snow and sleet, a sense of comfort and enchantment is gained from a night out at the ballet well beyond the festive season. No show will warm the cockles like the Pacific Northwest Ballet's magnificent adaptation of Cinderella, which features Prokofiev's sweeping score and choreography by the company's former Artistic Director and principal choreographer Kent Stowell. 

The familiar Brother's Grimm tale gets a magical yet modern kinetic makeover in this stunning iteration, with fantastical costume, cinematic projections and warm Botticelli-esque lighting creating a fairy-tale atmosphere from the outset. A brilliant ensemble cast of young dancers bring the age old story to life, driven by the romance between Cinderella, a young woman whose domineering step mother forces her to be a servant in her own home, and her handsome Prince. When Cinderella's Fairy Godmother appears, she is offered the chance to go to the Spring Ball, where the Prince will choose his bride-to-be. A pumpkin carriage and a pair of glass slippers later and a happy ending is in sight!
