Originally from Bath in England, the singer/composer/keyboardist Alison Goldfrapp started at an early age, appearing on her friend Tricky's 1995's debut album Maxinquaye whilst still at college. After meeting composer Will Gregory via a friend in 2000, her debut album Felt Mountain was certified gold with a nomination for the coveted Mercury Prize the following year. Known for her eclectic on-stage costumes, which often reflect her love of fauna and mythology, she is most famous for her disco diva-like Marlene Dietrich persona, complete with sweeping falsh eyelashes.
